Birth

I know what you may be thinking…”WHAT???” It’s true, more and more parents are opting to have the birth of their babies photographed. And it just so happens that this is one of my favorite things to photograph. This is because there is nothing more pivotal than going from a couple to a family, in such a short amount of time. In an instant. It is even more impressive than running a marathon. And I love that moment after baby is born and the look of elation, joy, relief, and tears in the faces of mom and dad. I can silently and unobtrusively photograph from the beginning stages of labor all the way through, to just photographing the hours after the birth when baby gets measured, weighed, and family gets to bond and cuddle. Together, you can give me an idea of what kinds of things you would like me to include to tell the story of your baby’s birth. Having had both my births photographed, I was ready to see them ASAP in order to marvel at my accomplishment. I saw another birth photographer explain it as “let your husband hold your hand, not the camera,” and that is 100% correct. Let him be your support and be an active participant in the birth, and let a professional photographer do the rest. I promise you won’t regret it.  (Many images have been edited for public viewing or not included per mother’s request, but content  below may still be considered sensitive to some viewers.)
